Dr Hareld Kemps, a cardiologist at Máxima Medical Center (MMC), has been appointed associate professor at the Industrial Design faculty of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

The faculty of Industrial Design focuses on the application of new technology in daily life. The possibilities and wishes of a patient are central here.

“The TU/e research agenda fits in seamlessly with that of our centre for prevention, telemedicine, and rehabilitation,” says Kemps. “Together, we will look for innovative interventions to greatly improve the quality of life of chronic heart patients without increasing costs.”

Kemps and his research team will also focus on design, technology, and science related to cardiac rehabilitation.
