Members of the Achtse Barrier Foundation’s Leefbaarheidsteam (Liveability team) are worried about the dust and noise caused by air traffic in Eindhoven.

The number of complaints about air traffic in Eindhoven increased by 50% last year – there were around 45,000 complaints. President of the Leefbaarheidsteam, Hans Everstijn, is not surprised. “This is due to the increased holiday traffic. Tickets to Barcelona, for example, are around EUR30”, Everstijn says. Also, the nice weather in the Netherlands is, according to Everstijn, a reason that there is more pollution. “The aircraft take off into the wind because that is easier”.

Everstijn would like to meet with Airport representatives to find a solution. “They should also start thinking of the people in the area and not just of lining their pockets”, he says.
