There will soon be a new interpretation for the Clarrissenklooster (Clarrissen Monastery) on Sint Claralaan in Eindhoven.

The national monument was bought by CRA Vastgoed (CRA Real Estate). The company is going to redevelop the monastery. “The ideas vary from a luxury boutique hotel to housing”, Stefan Swinkels, of CRA Vastgoed, says.

Currently, the possibilities for the monastery in the future are being examined. The developer, however, states that the conservation of the historical and cultural value is an important starting point for them. CRA Vastgoed wants to involve local residents in the plans for the new interpretation.

Homeless shelter

Earlier KDET, a soundboard for homeless people, served a request to the municipality to turn the monastery into a homeless shelter. After protests from local residents, however, that plan was called off.
