City Hall must be made more sustainable

The Town Hall must be more sustainable. Solar panels and plants will be placed on the roof.

This is according to a report in the Eindhovens Dagblad (Eindhoven Daily Newspaper). But because there are still some technical problems, Impuls, an organisation that refurbishes and makes municipal buildings more sustainable, will ask for help during a mini-symposium in August.

Glass roof
During the symposium,  ways to keep the glass roof at the City Hall open will be discussed. Daylight shines through the roof onto the Council Chamber’s floor and that should remain so. The Town Hall tower has been renovated already. The Town Hall will be next. The biggest change is that the Residents Square, with customer counters, will be in the basement.

Besides energy-efficient heating and good insulation, as much energy as possible must be self-generated. There is, in fact, not enough space on the roof. Impulse now has the idea to put the solar panels on an elevated structure.
