Eindhoven man who ran druglab jailed for four years

A court in Den Bosch has sentenced Tarik N. from Eindhoven to four years in jail.

The 28-year old man ran a druglab from a garage in Rapenlandstraat in Eindhoven. Besides the jail sentence, the man has also to pay back €900 000 in illegal profits, the Eindhovens Dagblad reports.

The courts take a dim view of Tarik N. for storing thousands of liters of raw materials for the production of XTC in the heavily-populated Mensfort neighbourhood.

The 49-year old owner of the garage, who was arrested shortly after the discovery of the lab, was acquitted. The court saw no evidence of his involvement in the XTC-lab.

The police discovered the lab about a year ago after reports from people living in the area. They were worried about smells and white smoke emanating from the building.

The police officers recognised the smell immediately and entered the building upon which the laboratory was discovered.
