Shelter collects Christmas gifts for animals

Shelter animals in Eindhoven will receive Christmas gifts this year, after De Doornakker animal shelter began a collection campaign on Thursday.

The shelter takes in 1,800 animals per year, most of them dogs and cats. This year staff hope to bring Christmas cheer with gifts such as dog biscuits, cat toys, rabbit treats, and hay balls.

De Doornakker also welcomes donations from the public. A full wish list can be found on the shelter’s website.
