5 G technology tested in practice by KPN and TU/e

KPN and TU/e are joining hands to work on 5 G technology, which is the speed on which phones work on the internet. Nowadays mobile phones are functioning a lot with 4 G, but 5 G is even faster.

Both parties have the intention to reinforce each other. KPN is able to give their employees more education on the latest telecom techniques. TU/e has found a partner with who they can apply their knowledge in practice. At the university they are pleased with the cooperation.

KPN is also happy with the initiative. “The interaction with TU/e students and the collaboration with four major technology centres of the university, are an important source of inspiration for the development of new products and technologies,” Joost Farwerck, COO and member of the Board of Directors of the company, says.

On the long term it is the intention that sixteen TU/e students can graduate on places that are emerging from the collaboration.
