A road sign that warns of low sun should reduce the number of accidents in the Netherlands. The new sign will be implemented immediately.
It is an initiative of Traffic Safety Netherlands (VVN). About 20% more accidents happen because of the blinding effect of low sun. The VVN says motorists should ensure that they always have a clean windshield.
The organization is asking people to report low sun so that the signs can be erected in useful locations. Another tip: Always keep sunglasses in your car.
