New paving stones to warn burglars of neighbourhood watch

Specially made paving stones will be laid on Eindhoven’s streets to warn burglars of active neighbourhood watch teams.

The first stone was unveiled on Wednesday night in Woensel’s Limbeek district. Eindhoven has over 50 neighbourhood watch teams who work closely with local police. Team members also communicate via WhatsApp group chats to keep residents informed of any incidents in their area.

As the number of neighbourhood watch teams has increased, Eindhoven has seen a sharp decline in home invasions.
