Nuon and construction company Heijmans are going to place nearly 2,500 charging stations in Noord-Brabant and Limburg on behalf of the province.
Nuon is going to starts a test to prevent so-called ‘charging station campers’. About ten percent of the charging sessions at public charging points takes longer than 24 hours.
That causes a lot of posts to be occupied unnecessarily long and that leads to frustration for electric drivers and inefficient use of charging points.
Nuon therefore introduces a daytime minimum purchase obligation of 1 kWh per hour. That means that if a battery is charged for 4 kWh, the charging station can be occupied up to 4 hours. For extra time, additional money will be charged.
