Police arrested a 38-year-old man from Eindhoven yesterday on suspicion of drink-driving after a hit and run at the intersection of Kruisstraat and Pastoor Petersstraat left a teenage cyclist with a broken leg.
The man briefly stopped to exchange personal information with the 13-year-old victim and drove away before authorities arrived on scene. Officers were able to track the suspect to his home in Gestel based on that information.
The driver is in custody pending a police investigation. The victim was taken to hospital.
