Alderman Schreurs from the department of Culture gave this afternoon the official launch of the CKE renovation, a building for amateur arts and cultural education.
The current location of the CKE on the Pastor Peterstraat, where now mainly music and dance lessons take place, will be transformed into a multifunctional building.
Plans are that in the summer of 2017 all classes and activities will be moved to the new CKE building. Until then, several lessons that now take place in the music school at the Pastoor Peterstraat, will be temporarily moved to the Florijn building at Bogert 1, directly behind the CKE. These include classes for violin, cello, double bass, guitar, saz and flute. All other classes will remain on the Pastor Peterstraat.
At the start of the new season the entrance will be one the right side of the building. The concert hall and lobby will not rented during the renovation.
