Smarter and extended living at home with tech

Smarter technology will make sure that the elderly will get the help they need at home. And this can also ensure that persons will be able to stay at home longer as they get older. In the Smarter Living House on the 18 Septemberplein, the relevant technologies are all on display.

On the occasion of Dutch Technology Week, a small replica house is on display in the town centre of Eindhoven which showcases what home health care can also look like. There is a machine that helps with putting on support stockings, or as another example a wheelchair that functions as a wheelchair but also as a rollator, all kinds of alarm systems, an app to open doors and even a ‘add on home’. An extra room and bathroom to simply attach to your home, to allow a partner or parents to be able to function and live at home and not in an institution at the ground level. These technologies are all technologies currently available and offer a glimpse in what the future holds for smarter living.

Het Slimmer Leven huis (Smarter Living House) will be in the town centre until Saturday and is open during normal shopping hours.
