Robot Competition in Evoluon for Hundreds of Students

Promoting science and techology for the youth, that is the goal for the next few days. On friday the 1st of April is the start of the FIRST Tech Challenge Dutch Open Championship 2016 in the Evoluon. Fifty international teams will battle with their robots for the title.

About 500 youth between 12 and 20 years old will demonstrate their own designed robots in the Evoluon. The idea is that the robots carry out different tasks, which will be judged bij a jury of technical professions. The best techniques will not always be the winning factor, the jury is especially concerned that the youth has fun in this competition.

The previous days were all about technology in the Evoluon, hosting different workshops and also housing the Robocup European Open. A competition is for soccer robots, which has been won bij the TU/e Team Tech United, winning with 15-0 from the VDL Robot Sports team, and from German team Carpe Noctem with 11-0.
