Brainport region and German top institute join forces

The Brainport region will work closely with the German institute Fraunhofer. The German institute, the TU/e and Brainport Development will sign a cooperation agreement today.

The agreements deal with so-called smart city solutions. Together with residents of towns technological solutions are devised for urban problems. This may be, for example, in the field of sustainability, traffic or health.

The agreements will be signed on the day of the summit in the Eindhoven region between Germany and the Netherlands. Prime Minister Rutte, Chancellor Merkel and several Dutch and German ministers meet at the High Tech Campus. The meeting in the light of innovation must deepen the relationship between the neighboring countries.

Frauhofer is the largest institution for applied research in Europe.
