The TU/e is no longer the best Technical University of the Netherlands when looking at the Master programs. The TU of Twente has taken over that spot. This is the case according to the Keuzegids Masters 2016 (Guide to choosing Masters 2016).
TU/e loses first position as best technical university in the Netherlands. The Keuzegids Masters is compiled by het Centrum Hoger Onderwijs Informatie. The centre makes a systematic quality comparison between the different universities in the Netherlands. The opinion of students plays a large role in the final assessment.
The disappointing score of Eindhoven this year is understandable, says president Frank Baaijens of the TU/e. Their own research has also indicated that the university had dropped in its assessment.
According to Baaijens this is caused by an increase in student numbers without an increase in facilities. This whilst the main university building is under construction until 2018.
