Polish shop’ Eindhoven charity fair

The Wereldhuis Stichting (World house foundation) Eindhoven, better known by its nick name Polenwinkel (Polish shop) is having a charity fair on March 19, 2016. The proceeds of the event will go to a foundation supporting leprosy patients in India.

The charity market at de Laagstraat will last from 10.00 until 17.00. Used items can be dropped off from 9.00. There is also the possibility to have items picked up from your home. Items such as tools, books, clothing and other useful items are all welcome.

Director Riet Munsters started the charity shop about twenty years ago. At present about 75 persons work at the charity shop. The persons working at the shop are mostly persons who are finding it hard to obtain regular employment. Others simply enjoy been productive at the shop.

The shop has been nicknamed Polish Shop, because a few years ago the proceeds of the shop were destined for the Polish town Byalistok. Byalistok continues to receive goods from the shop in Eindhoven, whilst the proceeds go to other smaller charitable causes.
