Housing Corporation Woonbedrijf is to build 56 units suitable for students as well as 38 units for residential accommodation on the Vestdijk in Eindhoven. The current buildings are to be demolished.
Woonbedrijf will build 94 residential units on the Vestdijk. According to the Corporation there is a high demand for affordable student and residential housing within the centre of Eindhoven.
Woonbedrijf has discussed ideas for the new buildings with the Oude Haven Committee, a sounding board group of residents. This ensures that the plan that has been formulated is supported by the residents.
The buildings will be designed by Van den Pauwert Architects and constructed by Construction Company Ballast Nedam. Once they are handed over to Woonbedrijf, the Corporation will rent out the apartments.
It is projected that the old buildings will be demolished mid 2016, so that the construction can start this coming summer. The student accommodation should be completed in the middle of 2017. The residential housing should be ready towards the end of 2017.
