VVD enquires about letter Achtse Barrier of permanent AZC

The VVD has raised questions in response to the letter of the neighbourhood associations from the Achtse Barrier. In the letter the associations indicated that they do not want the AZC in the Orangerie to be permanent.

In a newsletter the municipality wanted to mention that the district had no objections.

The VVD is pleased with the constructive attitude of the residents’ organizations around the Orangerie so far. The party therefore wants the municipality to explain how such a misconception could take place.

In the letter the residents demand an open meeting on the issue. That way the residents can express their views of the plan. The municipality however is afraid such a meeting could lead to riots, like in Steenbergen.

The VVD still would like to have an open debate before a final decision is taken.
