Late parties allowed on TU/e campus, with community support

Parties will be allowed to continue until 03:00 on the TU/e campus, with the support of local residents, following a debate at the City Hall last night.

The PvdA (Partij van de Arbeid, Labour Party), D66 (Democraten 66, democrats), VVD (Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie, People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy), and BBL (Brede Beweging Linksom, left) had requested a trial to allow students to party until 03:00, three times per year.

The Alderman agreed provided residents in the surrounding area agreed. The level of support for the new curfew will be examined before a decision is made in mid-December.

Parties were previously allowed until 03:00, however this was stopped in 2013. Students asked city authorities to extend the curfew again, with the TU/e board behind them.
