VVD wants to reward turning in small cans and bottles

The VVD party wants Eindhoven city to participate in a new waste collection scheme.

Currently, deposits only apply to large plastic bottles. The new system will also reward the return of small PET bottles and cans.

Municipalities can apply to take part until November 15th. The VVD has called on Eindhoven city hall to take part as soon as possible, saying that this is an ideal way to increase community involvement and eventually reduce litter.

Starting on January 1st, 2016, the pilot will be carried out by the Foundation Packaging Waste Fund and the Association of Dutch Municipalities.
