Catharina Ziekenhuis awarded ‘senior-friendly’ certificate

Eindhoven’s ‘Catharina Ziekenhuis’ will be voted a ‘senior-friendly hospital’ today.

The certificate is a way for the senior citizens associations to indicate which hospitals best consider the needs and wishes of vulnerable senior citizens.

The hospitals are assessed on the basis of fifteen criteria. Catharina Ziekenhuis scored very well in almost all areas. For example, by paying great attention to the seniors’ lifestyle, and their medication needs.

The Netherlands has 120 hospitals, of which less than half have been awarded the ‘senior-friendly’ certificate.
