Eindhoven grows faster than expected

The population of Eindhoven is growing much faster than expected. By 2030 the city could have 250,000 inhabitants, which is a much larger number than the province predicted last year. This is evident from the municipal report ‘Sterke Stad’ (Strong City).

According to the municipality, the provincial prognosis is rather conservative, as it assumes Eindhoven will have some 236,000 inhabitants in 15 years’ time. Municipal analysts claim that insufficient account is taken of the attraction the city has on young foreign knowledge workers and students

The municipality expects that the increasing flow of foreigners will push up the city’s population to a quarter of a million in the coming years.
