There is finally a date for the start of the building of the Tarieq Ibnoe Ziyad Islamic elementary school in Woensel.
The school has been fighting for years for new construction, but now Alderman of Education Jannie Visscher, pledged the new school should be ready January 2017. This information puts an end to an eleven years discussion.
First it was the plan to move the school. The school totally disagreed with this idea and started campaigning.
Eventually, the municipality took the decision for new construction. In addition, Visscher finally called a date to start the building.
The school board consulted with the municipality. They made a cooperative agreement and started the tender of the construction.
The municipality has 3.3 million euros available for the construction. The new building will be on the site of the old building.
