First aid for animals

The first aid course for animals was so popular in 2014, that the Animal Welfare department (Dierenbescherming) is once again offering the course from March 2nd.

The training consists of eleven theoretical and three practical lessons that focus on the construction and operation of the body of the pet. The course concludes with an oral and written exam.

According Riekske Willems, a veterinarian with the animal shelter De Doornakker, you don’t suddenly are a veterinarian after the course, but you know for example how to transport an animal with a broken bone to the vet in the best possible manner.

Willems would get weekly emails with the questions and requests for a first aid course for animals. This has resulted in this course for animal first aid.
