JT opens cinema with 3D-sound

Cinema chain JT opened a high-tech cinema in Eindhoven yesterday. It is the first cinema nationwide that offers the new 3D moving audio Dolby Atmos.

Dolby Atmos is the first audio format where any sound can exist as an independent audio object and that can be placed and moved anywhere including anywhere overhead. For instance: an explosion on the right side of the screen will be heard from the right. ‘It should offer the best cinema experience that exists’, according to JT.

Worldwide, about 300 cinemas are offering moving audio.
