Woman gives birth in police cell

A baby was born at an Eindhoven police station yesterday afternoon. The woman gave birth to a son in the cell, press agency Novum reports.

The birth was unexpected according to the police. Paramedics helped deliver the baby. The woman was taken to hospital afterwards. She and her baby are doing fine, the police say.

The reason why the pregnant woman was in the police cell is unknown.
