Parking costs in Eindhoven city centre to rise

Parking costs in the city centre are going up, so the City Council of Eindhoven has decided. The hourly rate at the two most expensive parking garages in the city is to rise.

At the Fens-terrain and the VVV-terrain, parking your car currently costs you three euros per hour. This is to rise by twenty cents. The daily rate in the centre is to go up from € 6.70 to € 7.50 per day. By putting up the prices, the City Council want to stimulate more people to cycle or use public transport.

Also, parking costs in a number of residential areas outside the centre will go up. In all areas, the daily rate will be € 4.50. The current cost of parking in a number of residential areas is € 3.70. In other areas, the current rate is € 6.70. That rate will therefore fall accordingly.

Parking at the P&R in Meerhoven will also be cheaper. By halving the costs of parking there for a second day, parking problems in the areas around the P&R should be solved.
