The ‘Lichtjesroute’, normally an Eindhoven event, will be moved to Bayeux for a very special occasion. Ivo Baijens, president of the Lichtjesroute Foundation, is going to build a smaller version of the route there with the help of his volunteers.
A parade of important world leaders will be visiting the French city in commemoration of the invasion during the Second World War 70 years ago. Obama and Putin will be among the guests. "And, if my information is correct, our king and queen will also attend", Baijens says.
Tomorrow a truck, loaded with equipment, will leave for France. Today the last items have been packed.
