Eindhoven has 34 drop off points for Christmas trees.
The collection points are open on 11 and 18 January from 10:00 to 15:00 Hrs. The collected trees will be taken to the biomass power station in Acht. The power generated by the trees will be used to heat the ir. Ottenbad swimming pool and the Meerhoven neighbourhood.
One tree provides enough electricity to take a hot shower for one hour or to light up an energy-saving light bulb for 50 days.
A sustainable gift is handed out to everyone dropping off a Christmas tree. Last year, about 15,000 trees were collected.
