Resident of Eindhoven arrested for threatening with a knife

Bystanders assisted the police at the Keizersgracht on Tuesday night in the arrest of a 39-year old man from Heythuysen. He is accused of assaulting a taxi driver.

The suspect stepped in a taxicab at the station for a ride to the Keizersgracht. Upon arrival he wanted to get out without paying. When the driver reproached him, the suspect punched him in the face.
When the suspect got out of the taxicab, the driver was able to restrain him with the help of bystanders until the police arrived.
When the police apprehended the suspect, he began shouting obscenities at the officers and threatening them with death. The man was taken to headquarters for further investigation.
