Last night the radiation therapy department of the Catharina hospital was emptied for a while.
A small fire had been detected around a quarter to six in the evening in the basement of the hospital, this caused a lot of smoke.
Because the fire department didn’t know immediately what was going on, the fire rescue was scaled up largely. Eventually it turned out that the cause of the small fire was a broken electric engine.
All other departments of the hospital remained open and no one got injured.
