Nearly seven tonnes for youth unemployment

The Eindhoven labour region gets 680,000 euro extra of the government to tackle youth unemployment. 25 Million euro is distributed in total over the whole country.

The Eindhoven labour region consists besides Eindhoven, of Bergeijk, Best, Bladel, Cranendonck, Eersel, Heeze-Leende, Nuenen, Oirschot, Reusel-de Mierden, Son en Breugel, Waalre, Veldhoven and Valkenswaard. In this area about 2500 young people are jobless.
The region wants to invest the money in the so-called Starters Fair (Startersbeurs). Young people who have just completed an education but can’t find a job can obtain a fee to do an internship to get work experience. Employers also are given a financial contribution to offer the internships.
In addition, learn-work courses are set up for young people with a benefit.
Ultimately, some 200 young people should find a job  with the new plans.
