Portable Cameras in Inner City

Eindhoven council wants to begin experimenting with flexible camera surveillance. Starting in the summer two portable cameras, which can be moved to strategic spots, will be placed in the city. This is apparent from a letter that mayor Van Gijzel addressed to the town council.

Cameras are to be used specifically to observe a nuisance group of Antillian and Africans. At the moment they regularly move to places where there are no cameras and cannot therefore be monitored by the police.Van Gijzel also states in his letter that there is now less nuisance from this group but that he believes nevertheless that portable cameras would be worthwhile.
