The police have arrested five men, in total, for the shooting that took place on Sunday night in Veldhoven.

Although a lot is still unclear, it seems two groups deliberately sought confrontation with each other. Several cars chased each other in the vicinity of Houtwal, and shots were also fired. Eventually, the cars collided with each other on the Traverse and several people fled the scene.

When the police arrived on the scene, a man was found sitting in a car. He was injured and had to be taken to hospital. An injured man was also found in a vehicle on the Heerbaan. He, too, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Eventually, a little later in the evening, three more men arrived at the police station in Veldhoven. One of them had a gunshot wound.

All five have now been arrested. None of the three wounded are seriously injured. One of them has now been discharged from the hospital and, like the others, is being held in custody. The police are still investigating various places in Veldhoven. Several places are, therefore, still cordoned off.
