Traffic backed up for hours on A2

This morning (Monday), motorists were faced a lot of delays on the A2, northbound, towards Eindhoven.

At the Batadorp junction, two cars and a van collided at around 07:00. The left-hand lane was closed due to this accident. The Royal Dutch Touring Club, the ANWB, warned of delays of more than 40 minutes from the Leenderheide junction. A spokesperson advised drivers to take the N2 ring road.

An accident also occurred on the A2 southbound towards Eindhoven, also at the Batadorp junction. Two lanes were closed there, but they were open again at around 07:10. After that, the traffic jam slowly decreased in length. At about 09:30, the delay from Boxtel was only ten minutes. On the A2 from the south, the problems were mostly a thing of the past by roughly 08:30.
