Stratumseind pubs can stay open for longer for three days this year

The pubs on Stratumseind may stay open for two hours longer on three dates this year.

Local residents, the Municipality, and bar and restaurant owners in the Collectieve Verruiming (Collective Opening Opening Hours) pilot project decided this.

Earlier, Stratumseind participated in the Verlaatjes pilot, but this was met with too much resistance from the neighbourhood. Hospitality business owners and local residents have come to a compromise in the new plan.

On Ascension Day, student introduction days on Thursday 22 to Friday 23 August, and at Christmas on 25 to 26 December, the catering establishments may remain open for two hours longer. This means that they do not close at 02:00, but at 04:00.

At the beginning of 2020, the success of the pilot will be evaluated by those involved.
