The Eindhoven Housing Corporation, Woonbedrijf‘s Housing Director has resigned. The Eindhovens Dagblad (Eindhoven Daily Newspaper) reports that Paul Tholenaars disagrees with the Corporation’s new policies.

According to the newspaper, the new course the corporation is taking is also at the expense of jobs. Woonbedrijf is still working on a business plan and can not yet give a definitive answer about the consequences for staff. The staff will be informed about the plans soon.

According to General Manager Ingrid de Boer, Tholenaars’ departure is the result of a difference of opinion about the control of the corporation. Tholenaars, himself, does not want to respond.

The Executive Board says it wants to continue to live up to the high ambitions in the area of housing, renovation, sustainability, and affordable housing. However, corporations have to pay extra to governments and construction costs increase. Therefore, Woonbedrijf must pay close attention to its finances.
