‘Effie’, the Eindhoven Film Festival (EFF) mascot is back again. On Tuesday afternoon the image was safely returned to the festival organisers.
A group of filmmakers from the Amsterdam region had, in their own words, “temporarily adopted ” the mascot in early December. The filmmakers decided on this in a drunken state. It was never the intention to keep Effie, they say.
EFF director, Frank van der Linden, is pleased the mascot is back and does not intend to strengthen the mascot’s security next year. Until the new edition of the festival, Effie now has a place in storage.
