Ontdekfabriek needs new bus drivers

Eindhoven’s Ontdekfabriek (Discovery Factory) is urgently looking for new bus drivers. Its regular drivers have retired. This causes a shortage in available bus drivers.

This shortage in bus drivers affects primary school children. Since the end of 2012, the Ontdekfabriek‘s special bus has been driving a large number of primary school children to and from the former Philips factory.

At the Ontdekfabriek, primary school children are treated to a morning of “technological adventures”. Children, not just primary school groups, can watch films and try out inspiring interactive exhibits.

They can also participate in several workshops. These include designing and building their own inventions (even using 3D print!). Children can also create their own movies.

Transport per bus is sponsored for schools. This means a visit to the venue is free for primary schools.

The Ontdekfabriek is looking for one or two volunteer drivers who like to drive groups of primary school children to and from the former factory at Strijp-S, Torenallee 22.

Interested? Recent experience driving a bus is required. You also need a valid driving license allowing you to drive a bus in the Netherlands (Dutch D driving license).
