Mayor Letty Demmers welcomed Emma van Hulst, born on August 13, as 45,000th resident of Veldhoven.

Little Emma was born in the Vrouw Moeder Kind-centrum (Women Mother Child-center) of the Maxima Medisch Centrum (Maxima Medical Center) in Veldhoven. She is the daughter of Koen van Hulst and Ashley van Hulst-Teijgeman.

Mayor Demmers visited the family at their home. Not empty handed of course. On behalf of the municipality the mayor welcomed baby Emma with, among other things, two paintings for the baby’s room. The works of art were created by Willy Snoeijen and Daniëlle van Poppel from Severinus.

Residents from Severinus, a home for people with mental disabilities, are also busy creating another work of art. They are creating a special globe to commemorate Veldhoven reaching 45,000th inhabitants.

Once the globe is finished, it will be placed in Veldhoven‘s Town Hall. This commemorative globe will be unveiled for all to admire, by mayor and baby Emma’s parents at a later date.

Birth registration in MMC

For several years, Veldhoven‘s hospital has been offering the service of on-site registration for babies born in the MMC.

An official of the civil registry is present at the MMC during morning-hours. He or she assists with all proceedings and formalities. Parents, so also those of Emma, do not need to go to the Town Hall to report a birth themselves.
