Jessica Bartels, Linde ten Broek and Evert de Kock will compete for the title ‘City Poet of Eindhoven’.
The jury selected these top three from the entries. They focused on language, spelling, rhythm, content, authenticity and bond with the city. The winner will succeed Esther Nienke Grooten.
Jessica Bartels calls Eindhoven her inexhaustible source of inspiration. Writing offers her a view things she normally would never see. Linde ten Broek is storyteller and wedding official. She uses stories to connect people, neighbourhoods and cities and describes herself as ‘a creative pioneer with a big heart for people and the city of Eindhoven’. Evert de Kock is a mechanical engineer, and combines a ‘critical view with a nice dose of humour’. He prefers to write lyrics that make people think, move or laugh.
On Thursday, Grooten will pass on the title of city poet, which is valid for two years.
