First drone festival at Strijp-S

Drone040 is the first drone festival in Eindhoven. On Sunday, 19 March, a few hundred drone enthusiasts will gather at Strijp-S. Along with the many workshops and lectures, there will also be a drone race.

Mark de Haan, from Eersel is one of the organisers. He regularly works with unmanned aircraft in his own business, where he develops software and data-analyses for drones.

The festival’s goal is to bring all the developers in the field of drones in the area together. The professional as well as recreational use of drones is becoming more and more popular.

The speakers will include the students who developed the Blue Jay, the TU-/e’s in-house drone. The Department of Forestry will also come and tell people how they use these unmanned aircraft.

The drone race will be held in the Microlab at Strijp-S. Visitors can see the unmanned aircraft in action there.

Tickets for the Drone Festival are available at the Drone040 website.
