‘Arguing in council looking for successor of Van Gijzel’

Arguing has started in the town council about the trust committee looking for a successor of Mayor Van Gijzel the Eindhovens Dagblad reports.

It started because a member of the trust committee, Tom van den Nieuwenhuijzen member of GroenLinks (Green Left Wing) got a new job as Alderman in Son en Breugel and had to leave the committee. Because the trust committee has added a new member, Rik Thijs, a member also from GroenLinks, not everybody was amused.

Part of the parties CDA, Ouderen Appel and the VVD left the council angry during the meeting were this topic was discussed. They do not agree that a new member of the trust committee should automatically be one from the GroenLinks party.

The status of finding a new mayor of Eindhoven is unknown.
