Balloon project puts a smile on faces

Two trees full of thousands of colourful balloons to cheer people up

Even in the bleak mid-winter, it’s possible to create your own spring, and that’s just what initiator Mariëlle Coppes has done. She hopes that the balloon trees will bring a smile to the faces of passers-by. "At the same time, the balloon trees challenge you to think about what your own colourful dreams might be. It reminds us that achieving those dreams is only a matter of acting on them", she says.

Mariëlle wants her work to cut through the drudgery of everyday life. You can follow her on her blog www.magicaldaydream.com. Responses to the trees can be found on social media at hashtag #balloontree.

The balloon trees were sponsored by, among other, Eindhoven365 and Horecavereniging Stationskwartier. The balloons can be seen for a week before being taken down.
