As of last month undocumented immigrants will be allowed to report illegal activity without fear of deportation, the police said on their website.
Many illegal immigrants do not report crime for fear of being arrested and deported. This also means police are missing important information.
A pilot introduced in Amsterdam last year had positive results and will therefore be implemented in other municipalities.
In Eindhoven, undocumented persons can safely make reports at the Mathildelaan police station.
