A man was gravely injured in a serious accident on the Hastelweg on Saturday evening.
The accident happened round half past nine on Saturday evening. Two cars collided. One of the motorists was trapped and had to be freed from his car by the fire brigade. The other driver was unhurt.
A trauma helicopter was called to assist. The injured man was subsequently taken to hospital.
The cause of the accident is unclear. Police closed the road in both directions to carry out their investigations, but the road is now open again.
