DAF enters Malaysian market

DAF Trucks will be selling trucks in Malaysia. The Eindhoven truck manufacturing company has signed an agreement with World Auto Assembly (TWAA). This importer will be responsible for the marketing and sales in the Asian country.

Over a thousand old DAF trucks drive around in Malaysia. These were imported from the UK. The Malaysian importer now wants to meet the demand for new DAF trucks as well. An order for six new trucks has been received already.

"There is no lack of ambition," Goh Tiong Guan, director of TWAA, says. "We assume that we will be selling some 600 trucks a year in the foreseeable future."
