TU/e sets up centre for start-up student entrepreneurs

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) launched the STARTUP/eindhoven student incubator on Monday 29 September. The launch took place during the ‘Where science meets business’ congress on the importance of knowledge valorisation for the economy. TU/e will support, inspire and facilitate start-up student entrepreneurs through this new centre.

STARTUP/eindhoven will be located on the TU/e campus in the Multimedia Pavilion. Students will be given free accommodation in the ‘Flexroom’, and can get advice and support for the financing of their business plans. There will be inspiring weekly lectures from professionals and entrepreneurs. The building provides an area with 18 flexible workplaces where start-ups can work on their business concepts.

More than 40 student entrepreneurs have already registered, and this number is continuing to grow.

The new entrepreneurs centre is an initiative by the TU/e Innovation Lab, the Eindhoven Student Business Club (ESBC) and Bright Move BV. STARTUP/eindhoven intends to bring people together who promote the combination of entrepreneurship with technology innovation, and in this way reinforce each other.
