Fontys organizes ‘Purple’ introduction week

Fontys University of Applied Sciences organizes an introduction week, called ‘Purple’, in two weeks’ time. From 25 to 29 August freshmen will have the opportunity to become acquainted with their fellow students, their Course Departments, the city, student associations and the Eindhoven nightlife. The Purple week replaces the former ‘LichtIn’ (LightIn) introduction week.

Unlike previous years, there will not be any activities at central locations in the city this year, but the five thousand future students are going to discover the city themselves. They will be sleeping at a special campsite near the Karpendonkse Plas.

Several organizations are participating in the introduction week. The youngsters will be visiting, for instance, the Effenaar, Dynamo, the Parktheater, the Van Abbe Museum and the Catharinakerk. According to Fontys, the students will be seeing a lot more of the city than just their route from the station to the campus this way.

In order to conclude the Fontys Introduction Week, the Purple Festival will be organized. For that purpose, all future Fontys students from Eindhoven and Tilburg will come together at the event grounds of the Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek on the Thursday of that week. The festival acts include Kraantje Pappie, Dotan and The Partysquad.
